Looks really nice. It's very white. Which looks really cool. But, don't eat/drink/breathe near it.
Here's my living room from half a year ago when I moved into my apartment. Since then, I've been putting empty cheezit boxes on the wall above the couch.

OP: A large floor plant and a large colorful canvas/print on the wall behind the sofa would do wonders for warming up your space. Now that you're starting over by choosing your own tastes, you may even consider painting your own canvas.
If you're not terribly artistic, a geometrical pattern with some bold colors could be cool. Good luck.

Damn you.. that's like my dream living room! I just want everything clean, and black and white. I have the clean part (I am very crazy about cleaning an organizing, and yes my fiancé hates me for it), but I need to get all new furniture to make it black and white!
And here are some ideas;
Whats interesting is your room looks like Kanye West's Love Lockdown music video - also having to do with broken hearts. Is the white a theme, I wonder?

To create a little more warmth I say take the goldish/beige tone out of the beautiful artwork you have there and use it as an accent color. Get a throw pillow or blanket. Anything to break up the stark modern coldness. It's beautiful, but like it was stated, modern doesnt have to mean cold.
Throw some more of that beautiful artwork up there behind the couch.

Here's mine with a little Christmas spirit. Pay no attention to the stuff behind the imaginary closet door, you really don't see it, the door IS there . Oh yeah, that wire coming out of the closet isn't there either!

Get a big plant for the left corner. Mac it up a bit and you're all good to go

...It's not a castle, it's just the building style, it could be a religious house actually, if it is a castle, it's damn small...
Ahhhh, thought so, seen a few other buildings of the same style here (UK), they were mosques too, although not as big as that one.
Anyway, back to glorious pictures of peoples lovely living rooms
