10.5.6?

tried the guide like 3 times, nothing is working..

Are you trying this on a Mac running 10.5.6? If so then you are being hit by the problem where the Mac will not recognise an iPhone in DFU mode. You can either get a Mac running 10.5.5 (or earlier), use a Windows PC :( or connect the iPhone via a USB hub. If you are not using a Mac running 10.5.6 then where in the process described at,

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/603129/

are you getting stuck?

Regards, Alec

^^^^ what he said.

Ah yes, I forgot about the new problems that 10.5.6 have caused.

Good thing I haven't updated to it yet. I don't feel like going out and buying a USB hub just yet.

You don't need a hub. Here's the fix.

hey andy,

i just looked at your zip file which includes two files in IOUSBFamily.kext

is this from 10.5.5 (macbook or macbook pro)? the reason i ask is the someone else posted the 10.5.5 file as well but the size of the files are different

yours -
AppleUSBHub - 276kb
IOUSBCompositeDriver - 148kb

the other user, sk1nhd33t, posted this on

item #36 http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zlyq1eyn1in
AppleUSBHub - 248kb
IOUSBCompositeDriver - 120kb

so which one is from where ??? i have 10.5.5 unibody macbook and i am curious as to which file to use now.
