I just upgraded my PowerBook G4 1.33 from the orig Combo D to a Panasonic SuperDrive (from Macsales.com). The drive works fine except I can no longer boot from it. Holding the "c" key, "Option Key" nothing works. Has anyone heard of this before? Does anyone know how to correct this?

I'd suggest updating the firmware. If this is a SuperDrive Apple used in PowerBooks, for example UJ-845, UJ-875, etc., then there should be firmware available. Some components have the firmware installed for a PowerBook etc., and some components are delivered with sort of non-specific manufacturer firmware.

Try these links:

They offer firmware for many Mac superdrives. Some of the firmware is modified to make your superdrive region free. Be sure to follow their download/installation instructions carefully.
