oh well, when they release it, they release it.

Btw, I do hope the final safari 4 is faster and behaves better. I had to trash it from my leopard machine because it was way too slow, and on my tiger machine, it hangs temporarily (well, for several minutes really) on startup. Not good.

10.5.7 + Safari 4

I think they will release 10.5.7 and Safari 4 together. That's why bata won't work.

Yeah. I read it. And they don't say the issue is specifically a "version check".

You can simply open the Safari4.0BetaLeo.pkg with Pacifist. Than you switch to "Ressources" and open the file "Distribution" (double click). If you do so, you will find a line:
Code:
// 10.5.6 only
                if(0 != system.compareVersions(my.target.systemVersion.ProductVersion, '10.5.6')) {
					my.result.message = system.localizedString('ERROR_OS');
                    return (false);

Thats the reason why you can install the current Safari 4 Beta only on 10.5.6.

:)

Giving up on guessing the date, but I'm now guessing on a new strategy from Apple. They will rebrand it as just Leopard 7 and have it blatantly out to compete with Windows 7 (either RC next week or maybe they'll keep delaying until September). Then they'll get Snow Leopard ready for the next version of Windows just to ram home the point :).

lol.

I'm not having any of the problems people are talking about but I only have apple products so that might be why, I'm still excited for it though, not the actual downloading though that may take the better part of a day with my bandwidth.

When?

WHen? Friday or next year? For some stupid update that's taking forever when June-November is near. 10.6 suppose to come out around that period if not 2010 which looks likely convincing. It's like the developer team needs to lay off the chronic or smoke more IDK.

Seriously mate, rumour sites are not doing you good, take a break, lol

My guess is that they will be releasing Safari 4 alongside 10.5.7, the only question is when?

I bet within the next 24hrs there is another "Release is imminent"!

C'mon :apple: Release it!!!

Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeezussssssss release it already, my bluetooth adaptor hasn't worked for months!

I'm glad to see Apple taking their time to get it right.
I don't want it until its perfect.

No offense but that is just not ...

I've been around computers for more than 20 years and I have yet to see any 'perfect' software. Those aiming for perfect never get to release anything - guess why?

They should just release and be done with it. An important system update waiting for a web browser and a media player? Really? That's the reason for me to have graphics and bluetooth crapping out so they get a flashy browser in there. Come on, this is getting extremely silly.
:apple: = :mad:

I have the beta running on my MB Air Rev2 1.86ghz SSD. I have no issues and everything is fast. For having one of the slowest current Macs out there I don't understand some of the issues people are having.

I haven't had any issues with 10.5.6 whatsoever. I'm in no hurry to have them push out 10.5.7 unless it adds security updates.

If they made it perfect we would have nothing to complain about ... most Mac forums online would disappear.

Personally I've started to take comfort in the fact that I'll be able to submit feedback on pet bugs for years to come as after 4.5 years it's clear they will never be addressed.

I just want the "Overscan" option back in the display preferences. That's the ONLY way I can get my Mac Mini to fill the screen of my 720p TV.

My Mac Mini is sitting at 10.5.5 until that gets fixed...
I've got that in 10.5.6.. See attachment.

Patience is a virtue, find it if you can... and let's face it, you haven't really got a lot of choice, and whining like babies isn't gonna help. It will come when it does, until then... shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! :)
