Macbook Pro 2008 DVD drive SATA or IDE?

Does the 2008 Macbook Pro have a DVD drive with a SATA interface or IDE / ATAPI?

I've been toying with getting this slot loading blu ray drive and installing it. So i could install windows and watch Blu ray in Windows.

Would this work? Would this drive also function as a plain ole' DVD drive in OSX?

So this blu ray drive as an IDE won't work?

I bought my 17" Macbook Pro in March of 2008. So what does that mean?

No. As posted you have a PATA, IDE, UATA/100 - all much the same beast. So, need the same interface Blu-ray. Your MacBook Pro does not use SATA for the optical drive bay.

It says it has Interface: IDE / ATAPI (DMA66 support)

Would this one be compatible? $180 is a steal for an internal slot loading drive! Please let it be true!
