Did you do 2-3 day shipping? I'm going to upgrade the base model to a 250 gig HD, hopefully it will be here by Friday.

I had ordered a 13" MacBook last Wednesday, I got it today. I was so pumped, really good shipping time. Anyhow, I open my baby up and load safari and of course the apple site is the home page and what do I see the new 13" MBP's with the price drops etc.! I was so frustrated, so I call up Apple and after waiting an hour on hold, they didn't give me any problems. Have to send my old one back. And I should get the new one by the end of this week!! When the waiting was finally over, it all comes back to another waiting game. Oh well, thanks Apple! :D:apple:

Yep, ordered new 2.53 and can not wait. My one week old 15" is going straight back, cannot be bothered to send back to wait for new one. So placed separate new order.

Ordered base model + 4GB ram upgrade. Couldn't Justify paying $300 since all i really wanted is the ram upgrade. I have a 320GB 7200 RPM seagate at home (hopefully it is easy to install like the old unibodies). Ram was only $90 upgrade about the same as if i bought it stock and changed it myself (unless i wanted to deal with newegg mail in rebates which i don't). So all in all I saved $210 for cpu speed I probably could never tell the difference on. So happy the base model has all the same core features lighted KB, super drive, etc.

Both models now come with a backlit keyboard so there really is no reason whatsoever to go for the higher model. I compared prices when the same RAM and HDD was added to the lower model and it is still over £100 cheaper.

The extra CPU performance will be completely unnoticeable in day to day use.

yep, i agree. It was sure easier to decide on this compared to the specs on the uni 2.0 and 2.4. Now i dont have to pay $300 more for a backlit keyboard.

I am so happy with the new low end 13" MBP. This is the best update ever!

I am going to upgrade my old MBP very soon to a 13" unibody MBP (low end). It's such an amazing deal it's really hard to pass it up.

Got the 2.53 with 2-3 day shipping .... hope it arrives by Friday :D

I've been patiently waiting for three weeks when I spilled water on my old macbook (may it rest in peace) and insurance reimbursed me.

Anyone else order one?

Please post some pics when you get it! :D

I'm getting mine this month sometime, just waiting to see the reviews first. :apple:

I'm ordering mine soon, just gotta figure out what printer I want with it and whether I will get any upgrades. Current PB has only 1.25gb memory and a 55GB hard drive so even the base model is a huge improvement to what I have now

What's the status on everyone's order? Mine still says: "Prepared for Shipment".

Also does anyone know where these things ship from? I'm wondering how long it will take to get to California (I selected the free shipping).
