No baloney Tony!
Goatburg even advised it.
Ah Apple, so trustful to the lying cheating users we are.

I am curious though why Apple is still pushing the Box Set (UK, £125) on Tiger users, implying that you need to go via that route
Apple, Inc, being a tad ingenuous here?
they are only baseing that off of what Uncle Walt says, and he could be getting a premium version (for all the fresh installs and upgrades he does.) but who knows.... we will have to wait until friday.

I think it's to do with Snow Leopard not supporting the old versions of iLife that would have come on Tiger machines.
Yes, although in this case what has a good conscience to do with it?Apple sells single and family pack but there's no serial needed. I think both things are about conscience.
Really?I think it's to do with Snow Leopard not supporting the old versions of iLife that would have come on Tiger machines.
I think so too.I think you're completely wrong.
Why do some people think that it's so wrong for Tiger users to be able to upgrade to Snow Leopard without paying the $129 for Leopard? Apple is the one screwing you all over, not the Tiger users. All Apple had to do was implement controls that require a Leopard installation in order for Snow Leopard to be installed. But I've seen numerous posts where people are calling Tiger users who are only paying $29 to upgrade cheaters, thieves, and the like. Get over it, people.

Apple are misinforming Tiger "upgraders" by suggesting that their upgrade route is only possible by buying the Box Set.
If they were playing a fair game they would make it clear that the box set is not needed, only if you wanted to upgrade the iLife and iWork apps, and not tell their sales people to dish out wrong info.
Yes, a small detail, but still considering the price difference…
Really?
I think so too.
I don't get it, are you suggesting Snow Leopard supports the old iLife '08? I always thought Apple ditched support for EOL software in new OS's

Supports or works?
Apple may not support iLife '08, but as far as I am aware iLife '08 works with Snow Leopard why wouldn't they?
I have not seen anything to suggest that on Apple's site
I am not trying to be contrary here, but if you know that iLife '08 doesn't work with Snow Leopard some links to prove it would be appreciated.
I never said it didn't work.
I suggested that the lack of official support for it, would be the driving reason for Apple suggesting Tiger users buy the box set, much like Adobe saying only CS4 is supported. They don't want to be bothered with all the testing and possible complaints.
Then I misunderstood you.
Although my points stands that I do not think that is good enough reason for Apple to knowingly overcharge people.
