was available from July 18, 2001 to March 18, 2003

Wow, it's crazy how we weren't even getting a gig of RAM until almost 2007 and look how far its come just in the past 2 years.

you wont need more then 1 gb ram ..there are linux distros which can run entirely on 1 gb of ram , so there is no need for more ram
