iPod iMovie '09 vs. Handbrake??

Hi,

I'm currently editing some home movies with iTunes '09.

When finished I want to add them to my iTunes library.

Easy to do with the "Share option", but I'm wondering if the video quality is better/worse/same if I first burn them to DVD and then use Handbrake to create a iTunes version??

Has anybody tried this?

Video quality will suffer a tad if you burn a DVD then rip it with hadbrake. Using that meathod uses 2 rounds of compression in which artifacts appear ontop of artifacts. It's why ripping a DVD movie in handbrake never looks as good as a movie bought on itunes. Your nest bet , if you want to use handbrake, is to minimumize loss before you make an iTunes copy. You could export to dv, which doesnt any where come close to the artifacts introduced during the making of a DV, and then convert that dv file in handbrake.

thanks, lostless. But do you think just using the share option in iMovie is best?
