In everyone's personal experience, what apps that you currently have install seem to use up your battery the most?

The biggest one for me seems to be Tweetie 2, if I have this open for a while the battery drains very quickly

Tweetie 2 is a resource hog... Just by keeping it open, it will drain your battery to 50%

Google Earth. I used this on my sisters iPod touch for about 10 minutes, battery went from 70% to almost 55%.

Tweetie 2 on my 3G, I haven't seen outlandish battery drainage. Just the usual.

maps while driving

The 4 biggest power drains might be the 3G radio, the display backlight, the GPU and the CPU. Anything that uses all 4 would probably drain the battery the fastest.

Continuously streaming new map data over 3G while the GPS chip is running does a pretty good job of heating the device up. Zoom in so that the map has to continuously redraw as you move. Heat is energy that has to come from somewhere (the battery).

Modern Combat Sandstorm and Doom Resurrection.

They both feature incredible graphics and sound, and have tap to shoot controls. Quite intense games and probably very hard work for the iPhone.

As a result they really do drain the battery down.

Yea it is one of the biggest users of battery that I have seen in a while, the next would be streaming.

I used Layar the other day. The phone had been on charge before ao I know it was 100%. I turned off the phone and when I came back an hour or two later, the phone was quite warm and the battery was 50%. I'd turned it off but it seems like Layar was still doing something.

Streaming radio apps

Fstream first, since it wont let me steam over edge (maybe a bug?), kills my battery. Full phone can't listen to a football game for the duration of the game. In fact, was under 20% by halftime. Wifi off, 3G on.

Simmilarly, but since Edge is ok, MLB audio strem kills my phone, but at least it will last for a full game.

Uno is a complete battery killer. About ten or fifteen minutes of play can kill a good chunk of your battery life.
