Does anyone have access to an iPhone/Cocoa-touch barcode scanning library that uses only the legitimate developer's APIs or know of any? I know Red Laser provides bar code scanning, but I'm led to believe that the way it works is not totally compliant as it uses some trickery and unpublished API calls?

I think the MS tagging app is compliant, but this needs a photo to be taken first and then analysed.

Wil Shipley of Delicious Library, inventor of video barcode scanning, has repeatedly said that there is no official way to do that directly with the iPhone camera. I've seen him Tweet it at least twice. Here is once.

From Red Laser's SDK page;

WARNING: 10/14/2009 The RedLaser SDK currently uses an unpublished function to access video frames. Very recently, others have indicated that this will likely lead to rejection of any application using this function, including any application with the RedLaser SDK.
