How to retrieve old MMS

I have a video someone sent me from another iPhone on Oct. 7, 2009. I load earlier messages back to this date and there is the video dialog box with the play button. When I click play, it moves to the video viewer screen and a dialog box comes up saying, "This movie could not be played." Is there anything I can do to retrieve the video? It was there before and I've viewed it before, but now I can't.

Is that the only MMS video that won't play, are there others also?
