Hi, just bought an iPod Classic 80GB.

When ever I try to sync my whole library (18GB), it freezes halfway through. I have tried syncing manually and that doesn't work either. I've tried restoring the iPod, yet no luck.

I tried syncing my Dad's entire library on a PC and that seemed to work with no problems - although his collection is around 12GB.

I have the newest version of iTunes installed, and I'm running Snow Leopard.

Thanks.

i think it's a hard drive issue.

i just bought a used 80 GB iPod classic and tried to sync it. every time it got to ~12.4 GB it froze up. didn't matter if i tried to sync everything at once, or album-by-album, always seemed to freeze up around 12 GB. this kind of fits in with the problem you're having (well, had. . .this is an old thread).

the battery seems to be fine, my computer is a brand new iMac. . .everything seems fine so it's gotta be the hard drive.

very, very frustrating.
