SO recently my ipod touch stopped working, it was under warrenty and after visiting the genius bar I was given a new(refurb) touch, very happy with the service. here is the problem..

before I got the ipod replaced, I sold my computer older dell (in anticipation of getting a mbp) and am now using friends computers for the moment. since the new ipod obviously does not have anything on it, is there any way to recover my apps? I still have the hard drive from my old laptop however i have been unable to get any computers to boot from it when connected via usb. I can see all program files and itunes directories.

I have all songs backed up seperate so that's not an issue, just wondering if there is anyway to retrieve my apps?

Just go to ~/Music/iTunes//Users/your_name/Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications/ and copy the apps to your computer and then sign into iTunes with your account.

Close, but... odd.

There are two ways to get there.
/Users/your_name/Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications/
~/Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications/

~ is a shortcut for /Users/your_name
