Hello everyone.
I need help trying to decide what used MacBook pro I should buy. I'm looking at a 13.3 in MacBook pro with a 2.4 ghz 500g hd. Its a 2008 model
Vs 15 MacBook pro with 2.2ghz and 320 hd it's a 2007 model. Both with intel core 2.
There asking 800$ for the 13in & 700 for the 15 in.
Any help would be great guys !

Thx art.

There was no 13-inch MacBook Pro in 2008; the 13-inch MacBook Pro was introduced/released mid-2009 so you're probably looking at a unibody MacBook thinking it was a MacBook Pro.

Assuming that the 13-inch is really a unibody MacBook, I would just buy a white MacBook for 200 more. The hardware is more updated and you get the one-year warranty.

For the 2007 MacBook Pro, I also don't like the pricing (though similar spec'd MacBook Pro would probably fall in that price range) because of the 8600M GT GPU being used. If it were around 600, I'd get it assuming the computer is in good condition and the seller is honest with you.

What are your needs? If you're just looking to get a computer to check mail, browse the web, word processing, I'd skip both and just get a new white MacBook and if money is tight, I would consider Apple's refurbished offerings.

My needs are pretty basic. i would be running vm with xp for some programs. Nothing major. No on the apple care on the 15 macbook. Ive got a mid 07 white macbook with a 2.0 ghz core2 duo. 2.5 g ram and 320 hd, but i really want a backlite keyboard. Which is the main reason i want to upgrade. i did mistake the unibody macbook for a pro. the seller did say it had a backlite keyboard. Heres the link to both seller. Hopefully thats not against the rules.

i would get the 13 in. the 07s have a little problem with that 8600gt going bad all of a sudden

I would stay away from a 2007 Macbook Pro if it has a 8600m GT. All 8600M GTs are defective, and they WILL die. I literally just took my MBP in today after the GPU crapped out on me. I asked the guy if the issue has been fixed, and he said they're using a revision 2 logic board that has the issue corrected. Whether this is actually true or not, I don't know. The guy seemed like a straight shooter that didn't try to BS me. My point is, with the MBP, you have no idea if it has the original 8600m GT in it or if it's been repaired before Apple fixed the issue (meaning they put in a bad 8600m GT to simple patch the problem before actually fixing the problem).
