Would Restoring From TM Speed Up My Mac?

Part of the old MR guard.
I've upgraded from Leopard to SL and had found that my C2D 2.4Ghz MBP 15" hasn't been snappy ever since. Even my friend's MBP 13" latest 2.4Ghz loads SysPrefs faster than me.

Would wiping the HD and restoring from TM using the Snow Leopard disk help at all, or would I get the same thing and have just wasted my time?

Yes, it can. All system files will be reinstalled and that can speed up the system, especially if you upgraded from 10.5 to 10.6

Would things like Dock configuration, applications configuration, music in iTunes, application preferences/logs/data, etc be saved?

Would the Adobe CS5 suite have a hard time in this migration?

Yes, all of that would be saved.

Sounds good then. :) Do I insert the SL disk and click restore from Time Machine, or would I do a clean install, do Migration Assistant and select my Time Machine backup from there?
