ok all, just came home with my ip4. the gal at the store told me that she didn't recommend screen film because it may peel the coating off of the phone screen. true or nonsense? is this marketing because they want people to think that the screen is scratch resistant enough without a protector? or could there be some truth in this idea that a film may pull off whatever they have coating the screen?

thanks for any advice.

there is an oleophobic coating on the screen that may be pulled off but im not sure. i would just go with a screen protector to be on the safe side. most are crystal clear and fairly cheap. you can barely tell the difference. just think though, if you get a scratch on the screen protector your screen should be alright.
