How do you attach the file, even?
It says that it's an invalid file!!

I need to convert .pages into .doc. How would I do this?

Do you have access to the Pages program at school? According to this old thread (and assuming this still works in the current version of Pages - I don't have the program in front of me now and can't check), you need to choose File - Export as, not - Save as.

Edit: If you only have access to Word where you are, you can try this suggestion, posted here on another forum in 2009:

MS Word comes installed with converters, and should convert works to docs
  • Place the documents you want to convert in a single folder.
  • On the File menu, click New.
  • In the New Document task pane, under New from template, click General templates.
  • Click the Other Documents tab.
  • Double-click Batch Conversion Wizard.
  • Follow the directions on the screen.

It's saying that the file is corrupted?
I can't seem to access the file at all.

I'm currently on a mac at school, but there is no .pages installed on this computer.

Thank you for your quick replies, however, those methods don't seem to work for me. o_O

If it's truly corrupt, I suppose you're out of luck, unfortunately.

I guess the only other thing I would suggest is to try to mail it to someone you know who does have pages installed, so s/he can try to open it and then convert it or copy the contents over to Text Edit and mail it back to you. :(

What is "it" ? What is telling you the file is corrupted? If you are trying to open it in Word it will not work, because Word does not read .pages.

FYI, this is why iWork is trashware. Maybe i'll start using this as an example of why people should just save themselves the trouble and buy Office if compatibility is going to be an issue.

Are you on a Windows machine?

No, I'm currently on a mac.

I don't understand why it would save in a different format if a pages file isn't standard on every mac anyway. ==;;

When I try to attach a file on this forum it also says that it's an invalid file.

If it's really and truly corrupt, this probably won't help. But I also found this thread. You can try the solution suggested from post 7 and onward. Take note of post number 10.

Thank you all for your help, but I figured it out.

Rather, I finally reached someone had home and had them resave it as a word file, then send it to my email.

Thank you soooo much for responding!!
