Where bunnies are welcome.
My old 3G does not boot up with an apple or anything, just a white screen. I get either an error 23 or 1600. I've tried using iReb, but it doesn't turn my screen white, so it doesn't seem to work. I was on a custom 3.1.2 .ipsw.

I think error 23 is a hardware error.

I think it's a hardware failure also.

I had a 3GS when they first came out and had this problem. I had just restored the phone using a backup that was jailbroken. I woke up a few hours later with a warning on the screen saying that iPhone could not take or make calls and that a restore was needed. IMEI and the ICCID #s were listed as unknown.

When I restored, it failed with an error 23 and told me that if the sim was locked with a sim pin to unlock it. There never was a sim pin on the sim.

Apple replaced my phone back then because it was barely two months old.

Yes, I realize that in some cases this is a hardware failure, but I also get the 1600 error and I've read about people getting past this error. I just can't seem to get it to work.

Ive had white screens before, I just kept trying a hard reset till it booted.

No, basicly i picked up my phone and turned it on, only fir the white screen to appear, I've had it happen to all my phones at some point in time. As a matter of fact my iphone 4 did it yesterday, a hard reset got it back to normal. Ive had times where I had to try a couple of times for the hard reset to work. I read on here recently that it's a software issue, that's what apple told the person.
