Be careful with what? Did you just install the app or are there multiple settings within the app?

This involves removing plist files that are involved with the various daemons on your phone launching. If you mess it up, your phone won't start. Generally, it's pretty safe to remove the ones marked "safe" on that link, though it's still a good idea to back everything up.

You don't install anything with this, you browse the file system on your phone using something like iPhoneExplorer or WinSCP.

That's what you have to be careful with.

I like the guy who renamed the daemon directory and then rebooted his phone.

yes its safe to do.....however, you have to be careful as to what you remove, check and double check before you erase something from your phone.

It does make a difference, i did it to my 3G and redid it every time i upgraded. Its not a HUGE difference, but you might gain 10-12megs of ram...phone booting with about 62mb free. This is my personal experience, ymmv.

My 3G went from maybe 8-14mb free to 30-40mb free on average after I did this. It made a huge difference in the overall speed of the phone too.
