ATV and high-resolution audio

I have many DVD-Audio rips that I would like to stream via the new ATV (encoded in Apple Lossless format, 24-bit, at 48kHz and greater). Is this possible? A few questions:

- Will iTunes 10/AirPlay stream files at a bitrate higher than 16-bit? (Or a frequency higher than 44kHz?--it's my understanding that the old AirTunes transcodes on the fly as it streams)

- What is the highest frequency audio (sampling rate) the new ATV supports playback for?

And a potential follow up:

- If iTunes 10 will stream files in higher quality than 16/44, does the Airport Express have a 24-bit digital-audio converter (DAC)?
