I have plugged in my External drive to my MacBook Pro, and it's all fine when I open the files in it.. But as I try to transfer files to my hard drive, it won't transfer.. Instead it keeps denied and the same goes when I try to transfer some files to another persons hard drive.. How can I fix this??

Is that HDD formatted with NTFS? Check it out via selecting the HDD icon and pressing CMD+I and look under format.

  • Read/Write FAT32 from both native Windows and native Mac OS X.
  • No individual file larger than 4GB.
NTFS
HFS

  • To Read/Write HFS from Windows, Install MacDrive
  • To Read HFS (but not Write) from Windows, Install HFSExplorer
