Hey there,
I wrote a free universal storybook application for Lillian Vernon called Dusty D. Dawg has Feelings too. It allows personalizing the first page of the book with the child's name and photo as well as recording your own voice throughout the story. It has a great voiceover if you would rather use the included voice. She is a friend's daughter who was happy to volunteer her voice for an app
It is completely free and is relatively sparse as far as ads and product placement goes. No tricks or gimmicks. There is an option at the end of the book to submit an email address but it is not required. I'm an IT Manager for their parent company and basically worked on the app in my free time to try and help them increase brand awareness. It helps tie into some brand "re-invention" that will be going on over the coming year.
If the book does well, we will create more free books. If you like it, please pass the link along.
It's a universal app and runs on all devices, though admittedly I have not specifically tested it on the new iPod touch. if anyone does test it on there, I would appreciate feedback. It should detect the presence of an external microphone for voice recording and allow it.
Here is the iTunes download link.
I'll monitor the thread for comments or feedback. Thanks to MacRumors for allowing developers an opportunity to create posts for third-party apps.
