Take a look at the iA Writer app http://www.macworld.com/article/1542...09/writer.html. iA Writer actually modifies the virtual keyboard on the iPad to allow arrow keys. Once more, iA Writer added the ability to actually skip back or forward one whole word. Definitely worth the price of $4.99.

What doesn't make sense to me is the inclusion of a "reading time" but not the most standard thing for a writer -- word count. I think I'll stick with Elements for Dropbox.
I'm always eager to try out new word processors in the iPad. But this one comes off a little too smug in its efforts to tour limitations as achievements.
The font, for instance. I don't like monospaced fonts, and that's just my personal preference. The marketing materials for this puppy try to convince me that the sole font displayed is just as perfect as you can get. Hmmm.
And this business about not displaying page count or word count, but "reading time." Sorry: nope. I'm a professional writer, and I've never, for one minute, thought about my work in that metric. I sit down to write x number of words, or x number of pages. That alone is enough to put me off this app. But the general air of "trust us, we know what's best" puts me off still further.
