Back in the day, I used to use Sound Forge on my XP. It would take a line in, record, and generate a visible sound wave that could easily be edited.

Is there something like that for the Mac?

I mean, i am sure there is, but what is it?

I then want to import that sound into either a video editor or Keynote so I can record and make a YouTube video.

GB and iMovie

GB and imovie, maybe fission if you just need to do some crop. It is much better than in xp.

Well, there is another way to record your audio if you dont have imovie and garageband, you can use quicktime player.

just simply open the quicktime player app, go file>new audio recording.

and if you dont have quicktime, you can download it from apple.com
