The thick of it
I wonder if anyone else had this happen: I synched my iPhone last night like I usually do. This morning I got in my car to head to work and I brought up the iPod app. All of my media had vanished. There were no albums, no videos, nothing -- just a grey iTunes symbol telling me that I hadn't loaded any media. This evening I re-synched my iPhone and miraculously all of my media re-appeared. iTunes didn't load anything back on the phone. The storage amount never changed. So the media was there; it's just that the iPod app for some reason wasn't able to see it until I re-synched. Weird.

Sounds like a glitch in the software.
Hopefully it won't happen again.
Best of luck. :)

Well, a day after I submitted a bug report to Apple, the problem is apparently fixed. That's service! :) The latest iTunes update addressed the problem.
