I am looking at upgrading my 500GB HDD to a 256GB SSD in the next few months. I'm not sure that 256GB will be enough storage so I was wondering what my options were.
I've heard of swapping out the disk drive for an extra HDD but I need my disk drive.
I've also thought about saving data on a "cloud" or an external hard drive, which could be an idea.
I recently thought of this though, is it possible for me to "mount" my existing HDD (which will be being replaced by the SSD), into something, allowing a USB connection to be made, almost using it as an external hard drive rather than buying one? Sorry if this sounds farfetched, I've limited knowledge on HDDs and how they work.

Thanks in advance.
