Hi,

So, a friend's Mac has had its region code set 5 times -- it is second hand, and it's been set once to the wrong region by the owner and it's locked now.

Is there anyway to reset it? I've searched and read a few things like you've got to contact Apple or it just can't be done.

Thanks for the link, unfortunately my friend isn't tech savvy, so I think that is a bit too complex, unfortunately -- I don't live nearby either, so I can't do it for her.

Hmmm, after reading little more, it looks like she could use VLC to watch DVDs. Just tell her to change it so that VLC opens when DVD is inserted

All right, how does the DVD drive read it though if it is trying in the wrong region code? Or is that not what happens?
