Lockinfo question

I am test trying lockinfo out before I make the purchase.. I don't need the actual lock-screen features, only the status icons (email, sms, missed calls).

I'm wondering if someone could explain to me what exactly the "notifications" menu is used for, under Plugins (in settings > lockinfo).

When you go under plugins, you have:

calendar
mail
notifications
phone
sms

all of which are common sense, except the notifications.. notifications for what, exactly?

and please, no smartass comments.

oh okay.. are all the major ones supported?? i use meebo and ebuddy..
