I make very brief calls while in Europe (mostly use iPhone for data), and I've unlocked and jailbroken it on 4.0.1. It's been working fantastically, I can't even tell if it's a hardware issue or if it's the placement of the proximity sensor and I jam it in the deep part of my ear where it gets tripped up sometimes.

Either way, at worst it's finnicky like many others. Haven't updated to 4.1 nor will I probably bother while in Europe this semester as an unlock is very crucial for usage.

However, when I return to the US should I try 4.1 (or stock whatever firmware is out if it hasn't been JB) and if it's not fixed do a swap?

I'd obviously not bring it in jailbroken because that would give them reason to not allow a swap.

Or either way just keep it on 4.0.1 indefinitely unlocked so I can get great resell value in preparation for iPhone 5/iPhone 4 and just put up with it or re-arrange the way I hold it up to my ear (in addition to using Call Guard for longer calls)?

People say the issue is somewhat isolated, but we have three iPhone 4's in my family and they'll all have the issue (with 4.0/4.0.1 can't speak for 4.1 because I haven't used it or seen it in use at all)

What would you do?
