So, my iPod touch has developed a bit of a light leak, if you can call it that. Millimeters below the lower edge of the screen, light shines through the otherwise black surface of the iPod. Making things even more odd is the fact that the light leak is visible only occasionally. This morning, it wasn't. Right now, it is.

Go into a pitch black room, and turn on your iPod touch. (Make sure brightness is the highest). If you see light leaks then you have light leaks! :)

Bring it into the Apple Store Genius Bar. I do not guarantee a replacement because light leaks aren't "officially" supported. What I mean by that is that they might replace it for you, but the replacement might have light leaks too.

After going through 7 iPods, 6 of them had light leaks (although some were worse than others). If you can find one you can live with, keep it. (My last one had a small one on the right of the screen, not as big as the volume button light leaks)

So far, I'm not sure the posters understand. Since the iPod does not have the light leak at the moment, perhaps this diagram will suffice.

And by the way, I absolutely can live with it.

I'm not sure I know what you want. Do you want to state that your Touch has a odd light leak, or that your Touch has a light leak and you want to know how to fix it?

Basically seeing if anyone else has it. I don't need to fix it.

Okay. I haven't heard of something like this so far, most of the light leaks I've heard of are around the volume buttons.

Yep. That's what my first 4th gen (plagued by overheating to the point of shutoff) had, along with my 2nd gen.
