Man the drive above had a lot of people on newegg pissed. It died in 6 and 8 months for some. Then did not work at all for some.

My own experience with that drive is mixed. Bought two, one died within perhaps 3-4 months. RMA'd it and the second one had issues too. 3rd unit seems to be fine now. The second one I bought has not had any issues at all.

Thanks I'll pass.

If you were referencing the Scorpio Black 320gb, the great majority of reviewers highly rate the drive. They have a fantastic reputation for performance and reliability. However, as with most electronics and particularly mechanical harddrives, there are some that will fail. But on the whole, the Scorpio Blacks are highly rated laptop harddrives.

Not really a fan, i bought one and it was both noisy and vib prone.

I almost put that drive in my last pro. But I ended up with the Seagate alternative and its still in the laptop that I sold to my sister last year.

All of my WD drives either stopped working or I just threw in the trash because WD refused to give me a replacement. My nearly 3 year old Seagate is still chugging along. My Hitachi drives are also working great.
