Hi,

I'm curious, does the 27" ACD have stand alone brightness control software, etc., for a PC? I'm not talking about a Mac running Windows, just a PC. I'm also not talking about buying a copy of OS X to install Boot Camp either.

Any idea's on this?

The ACD27" requires Boot Camp to be installed on Macs and PCs for brightness control. And the Boot Camp drivers are pretty easy to find on-line, if you look in the right "unofficial" places. ;-)

So I'm guessing there isn't any software from Apple for PC users that buy the display, that's a bit weird. Thanks for your reply.

Can't you just install Boot Camp on a PC to get the drivers by buying a Snow Leopard DVD at best buy?

Just pop in the Snow Leopard DVD into your PC, install Boot Camp and you should be able to get the Windows 7 drivers for the 27" display.

Am I wrong?

My 27" works perfectly fine on my PC. Intergrated mic, speakers, webcam all work fine. As for adjusting brightness, I installed bootcamp 3.1 and the 27 ACD update for 64 bit and can change brightness from 0 to 100 percent. Running windows 7 64-bit with no mac partition.
