Dr Bott Not Working :S

i have recently purchased a macbook pro.
and i also purchased a dr bott, now when i first introduced the dr bott to the macbook pro and my tv via the hdmi port, i just got the back groud picture on the tv screen never mind what i had up on the macbook.

i was wondring it there is a key combination that i needed to press to put the macbooks complete screen on to the tv?

any help would be much apriciated.
