I'm on my 4th iphone and this is the second one to do this.
I'll have service (2 bars to full - this seems to have nothing to do with the area) then the bars just disappear and it only says "AT&T" in the corner - I've tried restarting, enabling/disabling airplane mode, resetting network settings, restoring from a backup, putting it in DFU and reinstalling 4.1. Even only a clean 4.1 install with no apps or even email setup, eventually I'll loose service for at least 15 minutes (haven't actually timed it, rough estimate, but on at least one occasion exceeded an hour, and several times over 30 minutes).
Restarting the phone doesn't fix the issue.
Restoring the phone temporarily fixes it.
I'm getting sick of going to the apple store, so I'm going to ask here before I waste any more time.
Any else have this issue? Heard of it? Know what I can do?
My second iPhone 4 had this issue among many others, they said it was most likely a hardware issue, but couldn't run the diagnostics since I had just restored it before heading over there. This has been the one I've had so don't want to risk getting another faulty one if it's something I'm doing wrong, but I absolutely need to have the phone part of it working all the time.
