3G iPad Setup Question

Hey all,

Going to be getting a 3G iPad in the next week and was wondering, can I set it up in iTunes and get to using it without having a sim card in?

Don't need the 3G immediately but would like to know if I should have sim card from the get go.

Hey, I have 16GB 3G, activate via iTunes, is up and running w/o 3G just wifi.. Sim in or out does not matter.:apple:
