iPod touch Standard Definition iTunes movies on Retina Display?

Hi, I've never downloaded videos from iTunes and I plan on doing so, but would downloading standard definition movies look bad on the iPod Touch 4's improved screen?

Also how is the experience of downloading HD movies from the iPod itself?
