Hey guys,
Quick question, I was trying to search on this but didn't find a straight answer.
I upgraded to 4.1 on my 3G since the speed on 4.01 was unbearable. Now I know that upgraded the baseband as well.
Now I'm JB'd on 4.1 thanks to redsn0w, but with the new baseband so i cannot unlock.
I remember saving my SHSH file(s) on Cydia when prompted before I upgraded to 4.1.
I heard if you did this you can 'roll back' to your previous baseband.
1)Is this true? If so where do I find a tutorial on it...
2) IF true does this mean I also have to roll back to 4.0x? or can i keep 4.1 AND get my old baseband back so i can unlock.
Thanks

Edit: when i go into cydia now I see "SHSH: iOS 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2" on top, are those the SHSH files saved for my device?

No, you heard wrong. Once your baseband is upgraded there is no way to downgrade, or "roll it back". TinyUmbrella can help you by preventing the baseband upgrade on an iPhone4 when you first go to 4.1. That is probably what you heard but misinterpreted...
You will not be able to unlock your phone until an exploit is found in your current baseband...

tiny only preserves the baseband on ip4's

Run Fuzzyband 4.1 found in Cydia on your 3G. It will tell you what bootloader you have. If you have 5.08 you can downgrade the baseband.

Thanks!!! I downloaded Fuzzyband and I do have 5.08....Im downgrading now~!!

Spoke to soon..... first time around the phone rebooted halfway while running fuzzyband and went into restore mode...wouldnt kick out.
I restored, re-jb and re ran fuzzyband, this time it finished running but phone would only go into "searching" and not find a network..even after numerous reboots
Now I'm restoring again, probably will jb and leave as is for now..sucks. Might have to wait for new unlock in latest baseband.
