Can't update iphone 4 to 4.1 getting error

Im trying to update my iphone 4 to 4.1 and it keeps saying it cant contact apples update server..... its been like this for 3 days anybody else having this issue

I had the same problem. Turning off Kaspersky Internet security and rebooting the router sorted it out.
 
Thanks I'll try anything at this point.... I'm on a Mac but I'll restart my router
 
Just tried restarting router/modem no dice same issue... now bigger issue i tried updating using my gf laptop and my phones stuck in recovery going downhill fast and ive got to be at school in 2 hours:(

any advice would be awesome
 
ok thank you do you know how i can update it to 4.1? Im gonna try umbrella now hoping i can get a working phone again

I don't know that much about updating it but once you do run TU, be sure to save the SHSH blobs. That will help the resale value to future buyers to be able to unlock/jailbreak it and make it easier to restore.
