Cannot activate Ping Sidebar

I have a ping account, but when I go the the view drop menu (I'm using a mac) it doesn't give me the option to turn the ping sidebar on. The keyboard shortcut also doesn't do anything. There also is no icon for the ping sidebar on the bottom right of iTunes. I am running the most current version of iTunes, 10.0.1. Suggestions?
