Running iMovie from a Flip camera hard drive

Hi!

I work for a media education non-profit, and we're interested in a system where we could bring our Flip cameras to a computer lab with Macs and use our own version of iMovie that we've copied onto the flip hard-drives. A lot of people we've talked to are unhappy with the new version and want to stick with iMovie HD (myself included...). Anyone ever tried that? The Flip software is, of course, terrible.
