Recently my dog ran by my computer while I had my speakers plugged into my headphone jack and bent the plug inside there when I went to remove it something happened to the inside and my headphone jack no longer works and apple told me that it would be 600 dollars to fix the logic board. Since I dont have that type of money Im trying to find another way to get sound to my stereo because I watch alot of shows online from my macbook to my tv.

My problem is that I bought a usb headphone thing but it broke it was cheap and from an auction site online then i saw that there are usb audio cords with one end going into my usb then the other end had white red and yellow cords so I assumed I could plug it into my computer then the white and red ends into my stereo because this is sort of what I did when I had my stereo plugged into my headphone jack. when I plug the usb audio cords into the stereo nothing happens and after 3 mins or so my macbook tells me that this usb port is drawing too much power and will be shut down. does anything know how to fix this if possible. Thanks a lot.
