i have an iphone 3Gs IOS 4.1 and today it turned itself off it had 40% battery left. it wont turn on it just sits there with the apple on the screen and vibrates every 10-15 seconds. i have tried doing a hard reset but it still loads back to the apple and vibrating. wall charger wont change it. plugging it in to my computer crashes my itunes. but the last time i plugged it in it told me i had no sim card. i dont know what else to try can any one please help!!!!

when you plug the iPhone to your computer, does your computer recognize that the iPhone is plugged in?
if so, then maybe try to put into DFU mode and restore the software. use a program like RecBoot 1.0.2 to put it into DFU mode, then iTunes to restore the software.

DFU mode is probably the best move. my 3G once did this (being kind of stuck in a rebooting loop, never actually reaching springboard).
have the phone plugged in(!):
- Hold HOME + SLEEP button for 10 seconds
- release SLEEP while still holding HOME
-> iTunes should detect the phone in hardware restore mode -> restore
and set it up as a new phone after the restore, just to be sure
