auto correct word issue

Every time I type the word is on my Iphone it auto corrects to i's. I have tried typing it about 40 times and xing out of the correction thinking it would "get the message" but it still chooses i's. Unfortunately is a a much used word. Does anyone have any ideas for getting this word deleted from my word bank?
