Ok,I have a macbook os x version 10.5.8
Processor 2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo
Memory 2GB. 1067 MHz DDR3
I was using itunes for ages now lol.
But i ran across a problem that is stalling me,i was trying to burn a Audio C.D.
And it said: "The attempt to burn a disc failed. The burn Failed because of a medium write error."
I put it on Maximum possible,24x and then i just tried 4x and it worked.
But i do not like this at all!
Does anyone know a solution for this i tried using Mac's burn program and STILL had the same problem rather frustrating.
Anyone know how to fix this problem thanks.

1. It could be that the SuperDrive has dust
OR
2. SuperDrive is failing.

Try using compressed air and see if that helps (most likely will) if not, you're probably looking at burning at lower speeds or replacing the SuperDrive.

What if i used a disk cleansing disc?

It can be a number of things...
It could be a subpar optical drive, a dying optical drive, or subpar media.
Have you tried using a different brand of CD-R?
How many discs have you burnt with your optical drive?
What software are you using to burn?
Have you tried using differnet software to burn?

I use,memorex 80 min. 52X 700 MGB.
Lost count of how many but not that much, thats all i have is memorex and im using itunes BUT burn did the same thing.

I've had optical drives die on me after burning about 200 or so discs. It started off with random errors such as yours and the frequency of the errors would increase to the point where the drive wouldn't burn any discs anymore.

I've also had media that was so bad I would get up to 50% failure rates. I don't burn many discs anymore, but, when I do, I try to stick to good brands (i.e. Verbatims, TDKs, Taiyo Yudens). My experiences with Memorex discs have been middling, at best.

I've never tried using those cleaner discs, so I can't comment on them.
