Hello all. I am trying to do a spoken word voice recording using garageband. I purchased a nice microphone, but I am getting a problem where it is picking up the sound of my nasal breathing. I am doing a meditation instruction recording so there is a fair amount of space where I'm not speaking, and it picks up this nasal breathing sound.

I have been experimenting with the filters to filter this out but so far no success.

Is there someone here familiar with garageband and has some suggestions?

Look for "noise gate" or just "gate". It's been a while since I used garageband but I think there's a gate slider in the track info section on the right, next to the reverb slider.

He is right, there is a Noise gate slider, it will block out all of the sound lower than a certain volume.... very handy :)
