Hi,

I have a friend who is going to TechEd in Las Vegas, and if possible he is going to bring home an iPhone 4 for me.

But the question is: can a non US citizen, without an US credit card purchase a contract free iPhone 4?

I know I can get it from UK or other euro countries, but its much cheaper in US. I'm also aware that I need to JB it.

Thanks a lot for the response!

Hi Netdog,

Apart from that, would I be able to purchase it without any need to show ID's and stuff as a foreigner?

I think you could buy it, but the current baseband isn't unlockable right now so if you buy one you will be stuck until an unlock comes out which may be a while. I think you're better off getting an officially unlocked iPhone from somewhere in Europe or Canada if that's possible for you.

Its just i have a friend who told that he could not purchase one in the US 4 weeks ago?
