Hey,

Thanks for clicking in! I've got a late 2008 2.4 GHz Unibody MB that has been great so far. So, I was doing some work for class, had a bunch of word docs open, google earth open, itunes, iCal, preview, etc. And I do the 4 fingers down gesture to go into Expose view. That's when it goes haywire! I see all of the open windows, and everything goes negative, not the CTRL - OPTION - CMD - 8 negative, but just a little different. Then I get a bunch of horizontal lines cutting through the screen, I can still make out what I had open behind it, but the pretty colored rainbow style lines simply dwarf everything else. So, I just hold down the power button think WTF and restart. Right as the screen turns on, I see the same lines and can barely make out the startup Apple logo (Not sure if I heard the chime, because the volume was at zero). Then I hold down the power button again to turn it off again, do a SMC reset by taking the battery out and holding down the power button, etc. Upon restarting, everything is fine, and I'm all good for last 2 hours or so.

So, what happened? Does something like this have to do with overheating?

Also, I updated from 10.6.3 to 10.6.4 yesterday, along with a whole host of other software updates.

Bummer is I've got Applecare, but am currently in the Netherlands for school. All we have here is Certified Resellers that can only ship my MB away, I'm in the middle of exams so I can't afford to do that. I'll have to pay my local store a visit when I go home to the states for Christmas.

Thanks for help,
-Steve
