Limera1n successfully? As I found that if I have 4.02 now and upgraded through iTunes to get 4.1 it will also upgrade the 'BaseBand' 1.59 which I currently have... which will make jb with limera1n not possible. Is that true? Thanks

Common question. You can upgrade to 4.1 then jailbreak with limera1n, but you will LOSE your current baseband level. To stay on 1.59, use tiny umbrella to upgrade to 4.1 and preserve your baseband, THEN use limera1n.

OR...

Like many of us on this forum, use the new pwnage tool to create and install a custom 4.1 firmware. Your baseband will be protected by default.

I am wondering by upgrading the baseband what does that do anyway?? I can still jailbreak it right? or I cannot jailbreak it?

It's only important to preserve the baseband if you're wanting to unlock the phone for use on other carriers.. if you use AT&T and are not going to sell it anytime soon to someone who would want it unlocked, you're safe to just do a normal upgrade to 4.1 in iTunes and then use Limera1n to jailbreak.

Exactly! :D
