So I installed the new iLife yesterday and i got to tell you, the iMovie movie trailers are pretty damn cool. It really lets you show off and create some memories. I mean after importing the videos, the trailer i created only took me like half hour, and it took me that long because i had a lot of movies to go through to pick out the appropriate clips.

The one thing that bothered me a little is that on import of the movies, the face detection was not done. You have to kick that off afterwards. Also that takes a while, understandably. Either way it's pretty cool.

Here is my video that I created. I recently got married and we took our honeymoon in Europe. It was awesome!

Very well done! Great looking couple! Congratulations! (on your marriage and honeymoon ... not as much for iMovie!) :D

Thanks GGJ! The honeymoon was amazing. Paris, a castle in the country side Chateau de Challain, and then Marbella Spain. It was amazing. We didn't want to come home.

I agree. I really like the trailer templates. I hope they release more for download/purchase. Or third parties can create these templates/storyboard.

they are quick and easy to use. Plus, they are a good reminder of what kind of shots to use (wide, medium, close-up) and how to make the shots flow from one another and what type of transitions/cuts to use.

Ok, I officially want iMovie now. I was excited about it while looking online, but "real user" experiences make me want this more. Excuse me, while I sneak out of work...

Cast members

I also installed iMovie 11 but the problem is that every time I want to create a trailer the cast is fixed on 1.
How can I change or add cast members?
Does anybody know about this?

here is one I did from some footage from my deployment last year. The software is pretty cool. I going to have to play with it more to figure out how to utilize all the features though.

edit: oops wrong link...i forgot i haven't uploaded it to youtube yet..

Awesome trailers!

Just got iMovie 11 today. I can't to play with the trailers feature.

Good work guys!

Here's my trailer, about the trip to Corfu Island we just came back from. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Nv6AM3bJ9I

I did this trailer in 20 minutes, iMovie 11 is EPIC!

The underwater shots are filmed with the GoPro HD, a nifty little camera..

I think with imovie 11 and the gopro i found a combo that works great!

I have been thinking about the GoPro. How have you liked it. Sorry I don't have a trailer to post.

Original poster, congrats on the wedding, good luck to you both!

I knew there would be a thread on this so here is mine to share.

And if you like the above one, you will enjoy this one.

I spent about 10mins on each one, as you can probably tell, but the fact remains in 10 mins you can create something pretty "doggone" cool and neat in a short period of time. I hope Apple releases more themes or makes themes downloadable on the App Store that will be coming up for Mac next year.

Nice job yall. Some of these are really good. The honeymoon one and the Corfu one are really good. I think the imovie trailers are very koo indeed, but I still don't like how limiting imovie is. I also don't like the credits at the end of the trailers. Sooooo I created basically a template in imovie and edited it in Final Cut. Of course I HAD to change the cheesy music too. If you watch in HD it looks better.

Here's my final product. The photos aren't the best and a few of the shots can be color corrected, but we needed to get something posted for people. Here's the link to mine:
